Home Invasion Robbery/Pursuit

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

HOME INVASION ROBBERY/PURSUIT

On 8/30/13 at 12:02 A.M., officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Aspen Heights Parkway in reference to a home invasion robbery. The investigation revealed the male victim, 20, heard a knock at the door and when he went to answer two black males unlawfully entered the residence by pointing a handgun at the victim and demanded money.

A male roommate, 20, upstairs heard the commotion and confronted the suspect. The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in an older model gray passenger car where a third suspect was waiting for them.  There were three others in the residence at the time of the home invasion, a female visitor, 19 and two male roommates who were 19 and 20. There was no one injured during the robbery.

Officers responding to the area observed a gray four door vehicle coming from the area of the lumber yard on Ponderosa at a high rate of speed. The officer attempted to pursue the vehicle but the pursuit was terminated by the Sergeant on duty for safety reasons. It is unknown at this time if the vehicle was involved in the home invasion robbery.
