SWAT TEAM SERVES SEARCH WARRANT IN THE 4300 BLOCK OF LUDWICK BLVD
On 08-28-13, at approximately 7:40 P.M., the Columbia Police Department SWAT Team served a search warrant in the 4300 block of Ludwick Blvd. The search warrant was in reference to searching for stolen property at the address. During the service of the search warrant a member of the SWAT Team suffered a heat related injury. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. He is currently in fair and stable condition. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Officers did locate stolen property inside the location. Details of the investigation and what was found are not available at this time as it is an ongoing investigation. The decision was made to use the SWAT Team in the service of the search warrant based on information gathered during the course of the investigation. No further details will be released at this time pending further developments in the investigation.
