The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced today that beginning Tuesday, August 13, at 7:00 a.m. City of Columbia Street Maintenance crews will begin performing pavement repairs on Blue Ridge Road. This work will create a lane closure on Blue Ridge Road between Providence Rd. and Rangeline St. Tuesday, August 13, to Wednesday August 14, followed by a lane closure between Skylane Drive and Lance Drive Thursday, August 15, to Friday, August 16, weather pending.
These repairs to the roadbed are being completed before Chip Seal maintenance work is to be preformed on Blue Ridge. By completing these repairs now, the sealing project will be more effective and fiscally responsible.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.
