FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS ENFORCEMENT STATISTICS
Officers of the Columbia Police Department responded to 273 complaints of fireworks in the City of Columbia between 12:01 A.M. on Wednesday, 07-03-13, and 11:59 P.M. on Sunday, 07-07-13.
Officers arrested 10 people in 7 separate incidents. All of those arrested were released on a summons to appear in the City of Columbia Municipal Court for possession and/or discharge of fireworks in violation of city ordinance 16-234.
Last year during the same period (Tuesday, 07-03-12, to Saturday, 07-07-12) officers responded to 279 fireworks calls and made 1 arrest.
