DETAILS OF INCIDENT:

Crash occurred when vehicle #1, a 2000 Peterbuilt Tractor Trailer, was traveling eastbound on I-70 near the 128 MM.  Vehicle #1 was traveling in the #1 (inside lane).  Traffic in front of vehicle #1 had abruptly stopped causing driver #1 to apply its brakes.  In order for driver #1 to avoid striking the vehicles in front of him, he veered off the left side of the roadway.  While off road vehicle #1 rolled over and slid to a stop. 

Vehicle #1 was pulling a tanker trailer which contained Anhydrous Ammonia.  None of the tankers contents were jeopardized or released as a result of the crash.

Driver #1 was transported from the scene by EMS personnel to University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Intoxication and/or excessive speed are not to believed to have been a factor in this crash.
