UPDATE ON SHOOTING, CASE 2013-006567
The three victims in the shooting were all males ages 23, 23, and 19. Their names are not being released at this time as the release could possibly put them in further danger or hamper the investigation. All three victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
There is no suspect information to release at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Until investigators know who was all involved it is hard to say if the shooting was gang related. Investigators are following all leads.
There was an assault in front of 120 S Ninth Street which occurred approximately 45 minutes before the shooting. Columbia Police Department detectives are investigating if there is a possible link between this and the shooting.
There were numerous people in the area of the shooting and the Ninth Street assault including the person who shot the video which was posted on Facebook. The detectives would obviously like to speak with anyone who has any knowledge of the shooting.
If you have any information about this shooting, please contact the Columbia Police Department non-emergency number 573-442-6131 or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
