Tree Limb Disposal - Updated Customer Message

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

As of noon on Wednesday, March 20, over 425 customers have scheduled a special one-time removal of tree limbs caused by the winter storms in February. Street crews with dump trucks and backhoes have been busily collecting materials and hauling them to city mulch sites.

Five crews are collecting materials on normal refuse collection days and some are reporting that they are picking up full loads at a single stop. Due to this, we are occasionally not able to pick up all of the
stops on the customers normal collection date. We want our customers to know not to worry! If they are on the list for collection, we will get to them, albeit it may be a day late. We appreciate our customer's patience.

There is also a slight possibility of snow on Thursday in central Missouri. Should it snow, the street crews utilized to collect tree limbs will be used to treat and plow roadways. This may mean a full day delay in collecting tree limbs. We'll be sure and keep our customers informed should snow materialize.

In the meantime, thanks for calling to schedule your pick up and thanks for your patience while we partner with you to keep Columbia clean. Friday customers can still call (573) 874-6291 to schedule a pick-up.
