The Missouri Community Forestry Council in cooperation with Columbia Parks and Recreation is offering an Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) seminar for arborists, foresters and front-line individuals. The EAB is an invasive species of beetle that is highly damaging to ash trees.
The seminar will offer participants the chance to learn more about EAB, including identification of the insect and potential infestation, management, and communicating issues to the public. The seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on March 21 at Riechmann Pavilion in Stephens Lake Park. Cost is $25 to register, which includes refreshments.
Presenters from organizations such as the Missouri Department of Conservation and Department of Agriculture will take part in the seminar. A hands-on demonstration of branch sampling techniques will be featured.
Registration can be done online at www.mocommunitytrees.org. For more information, contact Mike Garrett at [email protected].
