The Columbia Public Works Department and the Columbia Regional Airport are excited to announce the unveiling of it's new website at www.FlyMidMo.com.
With new air service providers and increased use of web based and mobile technologies, the website was due for some major enhancements.
City IT and Public Communications staff worked closely with Public Works and Airport staff to create an entire new site. Some of the major enhancements include:
- A new landing page with enhanced navigation, new features, and richer graphics
- Improved site architecture
- Mobile friendly; works on desktops, laptops and tablets, and mobile phone devices
- New flight status information. You can see what flights are scheduled to arrive and depart Columbia Regional and the flights real time status with in-flight status too
- New flight schedule page with easier to find and read flight schedules
- New airport news feed to keep our customers informed of activities at the airport
- Facebook and Twitter links on all pages
In addition to the enhancements added to the site, City IT staff moved the site from a 3rd party vendors server to an in-house server which allows changes and updates to occur quickly and seamlessly. Bringing the site in-house also resulted in an immediate net savings of over $600 annually in addition to annual savings in design and update work by which was contracted to the 3rd party vendor.
We hope our customers find the new FlyMidMo.com useful when planing their travel from Columbia Regional Airport and share with us any features they wish to see in the future.
