The Columbia Police Department has two Deputy Chiefs of Police. Deputy Chief Jill Schlude oversees the Support Services Bureau; this includes Administration, Administrative Support, and Operations Support. Deputy Chief Schlude began as an officer with the department in October 2005. After being promoted to a sergeant and an Assistant Chief, she was promoted to Deputy Chief of Police in July 2014 under Chief Ken Burton.
Assistant Chief Brian Richenberger assists Deputy Chief Schlude with Administrative Support. He formally served as the Records Custodian for the department. In December 2017, the Records Custodian position was civilianized and former Records Unit Supervisor Lydia Green was promoted to the Records Custodian.
