Grants for Local Organizations

    The City of Columbia conducts an annual Request for Proposals (RFP) to determine projects to be funded for the following year. The annual CDBG and HOME RFP is typically opened in late February with proposals generally due by the end of April. Local organizations may submit a proposal or proposals that meet current Consolidated Plan goals and deliverables. Each proposal is reviewed by City staff and the Community Development Commission (CDC). The CDC provides recommendations for funding to the City Council that are adopted as a part of the annual budget process. The City Council makes the final determination for project funding. An annual training for applying for submitting a proposal for CDBG or HOME funding typically takes place during the first week of March.
