Heritage Festival Tips
Parking On site parking is limited. The lots are located off Nifong by the Maplewood Barn, off Ponderosa is a gravel/grass lot in front of the Maplewood Home and the new hard surface lots south of the museum. Part of this lot will be reserved for accessible parking. Just south of the park past the Blue Acres Trailer Park, at the roundabout, is Discovery Park Development. Parking will be allowed in these lots. When they fill, the grassy area behind the lots will be used for parking if the ground is dry. Although these lots are within walking distance to the park, a shuttle will be available. One shuttle is equipped with a lift for wheelchairs. If the ground is wet, and we need more overflow parking, we will shuttle from the Gans Nature Area off Discovery Parkway.
Ride the Shuttle! The shuttles will run from the Discovery Park Development parking lots just south of Nifong Park to the front of the museum both days. This is an easy way to park and ride with a convenient drop off and pick up location. One shuttle bus will have a lift.
Handicapped Parking will be located in the new hard surface parking lots south of the museum. You must have a handicapped parking tag. If these lots fill, one of the shuttles is equipped with a lift. There are some sidewalks at the park but they are not interconnecting. The grounds can be difficult for wheelchairs. Use the sidewalk north of the museum for the best access to the park.
ATM - Some of the vendors are cash only. The Eagle Scoop concession vendor will provide ATM service for a convenience fee.
Pets - We discourage bringing pets to the festival but if you do choose to bring your dog, they must be on a 4 ft leash.
