Curious on how the construction on the Short Street Parking Garage is coming along?
Now our customers can watch the progress of the construction by visiting our website at GoColumbiaMo.com. A camera has been mounted on Sampson Hall, owned by Stephens College, which has an overhead, birds-eye view of the project. The camera records an image every 15 minutes beginning at sunrise and ending at sunset each day. The link also allows the viewer to combine photos to create a time-lapse movie of the construction progress.
"This is yet another tool we are using to communicate with our customers and keep them updated on the status of projects", said John Glascock, Director of Public Works. "We will evaluate how our customers use this information as there is potential to add additional cameras to future projects."
In addition to watching the progress of the parking structure, the camera will also capture the progress of two private projects; the Broadway Hotel and the Northlight building which are being constructed in conjunction with the parking structure.
Viewers can access the camera view by visiting GoColumbiaMo.com and clicking the link in the News & Update feed at the top of the page, or by clicking the link on the Short Street Garage information page.
