The City of Columbia Public Works Department announces that beginning Monday December 3, J.C. Industries of Jefferson City will begin work on the Providence Crosswalk at Park Avenue project.
The project will include the construction of a new pedestrian crosswalk, new center medians to provide pedestrian refuge, and the removal of the existing pedestrian bridge over Providence Road. The project is funded by the Get About Non Motorized Transportation program with a total cost of
$203, 872. The work should be completed by spring of 2013, weather permitting.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use
an alternate route whenever possible.
