MEDIA INVITATION 

When: Thursday, November 15 at 1:45 PM 

Where: North side of theGrissumBuilding.  

What: As members of the media, you are invited to a guided tour of a recently completed Storm Water project on a city property. The project is a 3 phase project designed to treat storm water run off from a city owned property, with best management practices to protect the Bear Creek watershed. Storm water utility managers will provide a 30 to 40 minute guided tour of the project and explain, in simple terms, how the improvements treat storm water run off from a large tract of city owned property and how additional phases of the project in 2013 and 2014 will enhance storm water treatment even more.  

Parking:  From Business Loop 70 East, please turn north onBowling Street and then veer left at the 90 degree turn ontoAshley St. proceed to the west end of Ashley Street and park on the north gravel shoulder of the roadway. (A map is attached.) 

Misc:   Numerous photo and video opportunities in addition to interviews with storm water experts from the City of Columbia, Boone County, Missouri DNR, and others. Please note that you should wear walking shoes as part of the area is somewhat hilly with rocks and mulch.
