Game day traffic means FastCAT bus detour

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The Tigers take the field again this Saturday, October 13, against Alabama, the Crimson Tide. A crowd in the stands means cars on the street. Due to traffic congestion, the 107 FastCAT Express route through the downtown area, MU and Stephens College campuses will detour its southern loop. The route will deviate west on Rollins St. from Hitt St., north on Missouri Ave., east on Conley to Ninth St. and north along Ninth St. to meet its regular route.

The detour will be in effect from one hour prior to the game until two hours after the game. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30pm. The detour will mean five stops on the MU Campus and one on University Ave. near Ninth St. will not be serviced during this time. The stops on campus are on Virginia Ave., Hospital Dr. and Hitt, University Hospital, Kentucky and Tiger Ave., and Richmond and Rollins.

The FastCAT Express route will run regular Saturday hours, beginning service at 10:00am and concluding at 2:30am. Track the FastCAT buses from the RideFastCAT.com website or the RideFastCAT app for Android devices, available from their website or in the Google Play store.

The Spirit Bus, a football shuttle service operated by Columbia Transit, will also be running Saturday, starting at 11:30am. There are three routes covering area hotels and one route servicing downtown. Individual fare for all Columbia Transit routes is $1.50 per ride. Exact change is required at the farebox.
