Columbia Pools Set to Open for the Summer

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The opening dates for the City's aquatic facilities are coming up soon! Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center will open for Memorial Day weekend, May 25-28 then will open for the season with normal hours on May 29. All other outdoor facilities will open May 30.

Opening dates are earlier than published in Parks and Recreation's Leisure Times activity guide. The dates were changed to accommodate Columbia Public Schools earlier closing date.

Pool fees for the summer are $2.50 for youth between 2 and 15 years of age, $3.75 for adults 16 and older, and free for infants. Patrons at Douglass Pool will pay $1 admission.

Coupon books are available at $37.50 for youth and $56.25 for adults. The books cover 20 visits. Outdoor aquatic season passes are available for purchase at the ARC. Costs are $220 for a family season pass, $115 for an adult season pass and $70 for a youth season pass.

Following are pool schedules for the summer. Pool hours are subject to change:

Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, 1900 Blue Ridge Road-Open from 12 to 6 p.m. May 25-28. Starting May 29, the facility will resume normal summer hours: 12 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 12 to 6 p.m. on weekends.

Lake of the Woods, 6700 St. Charles Road--Open May 30 through August 6 (closed July 4) with hours of 12-5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays; and 1:30-7 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Douglass Family Aquatic Center, 400 N. Providence-Open May 30 through August 12. Hours Monday through Saturday are 1-7 pm. and on Sundays, 1-6 p.m.

Little Mates Cove at Twin Lakes, 2500 Chapel Hill Road-Open May 30 through August 12 with the following hours: 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Fridays, and from 12 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Parks and Recreation is also offering a Little Swimmers program for children ages 10 and under at Little Mates and Albert-Oakland. Little Swimmers will be available Mondays through Thursdays, from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at Albert-Oakland and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Little Mates. Children must be accompanied by an adult, cost is only $1 per participant.
