(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Fire Department will be conducting training in LP gas fires on Thursday, July 26th. This training includes classroom discussion on the boiling point of liquid propane, the expansion rate from liquid to vapor and techniques for mitigating these emergencies, among other topics. Liquid propane fires are unique because the goal is to turn off the source, not put out the fire.
The live fire training involves an LP gas tank / training prop that produces a large amount of fire, providing excellent photo and video opportunities. (See attached photographs)
We invite all our media partners to this training for interviews, photos and videos.
Where: Columbia Fire Department Training Academy, 700 Big Bear Boulevard
When: Thursday, July 26th, 7:30pm. Live fire training will begin at approximately 8:30pm
Note: Those attending will need to park on Big Bear Boulevard and walk down the drive to the Training Academy.
