(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Fire Department will be working with the Jefferson City Fire Department to provide water rescue training to new recruits from both departments. This training will be conducted in the Missouri River and will cover identifying and donning appropriate personal protective equipment, effectively deploying throw ropes to a victim, safe operation and maneuvering of a boat in moving water, effectively and efficiently moving a rescue victim into a boat from the water and swimming effectively into a shore or eddy.
