Second public meeting for Sexton Road calming project scheduled for March 15

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Public Works has scheduled a second open-house style "interested parties" meeting concerning the Sexton Road calming project on Thursday, March 15. The public may come between 6 and 7 p.m. to City Hall, Conference Room 1B, to view preliminary plans, ask questions or provide feedback. Construction is anticipated to occur in 2018 subject to the continuing public involvement process and City Council approval.

Sexton Road has been identified as a street with traffic operating speeds higher than desirable. It is currently the first project on the 2017 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Priority List. Everyone interested in this project, including those who attended the first meeting on Nov. 30, 2017 at Ridgeway Elementary, are encouraged to attend.

The purpose of the meeting is to review potential solutions, define and prioritize problems and identify desired outcomes. Information and diagrams showing the preliminary design concept will be available for public review. City engineering staff will be present to answer questions. A public comment form will also be available.

For more information about this project, and the 2017 NTMP Priority List, visit CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/Sexton-calming.
