Columbia Parks and Recreation's annual City Kwanzaa Celebration will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 702 Banks Ave. The event has been rescheduled from its original date of Dec. 2.
Kwanzaa is an African-American holiday which is based around developing positive families and communities. Traditional African or Afro-centric attire is suggested but not required.
The event will start with a business expo and social time, followed by entertainment and ceremony at 3 p.m. A holiday feast will cap off the festivities. Kwanzaa is free and open to the public.
