Columbia Police officers responded to 1012 Smiley Lane, McDonald's, at 8:42 p.m. yesterday in reference to a commercial robbery.
The preliminary investigation revealed a male suspect approached the business on foot. As an employee was completing a transaction at the drive-thru window, the suspect reached inside the window and retrieved an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the register before fleeing on foot in a southbound direction. A K-9 track was conducted, however, the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a black male approximately 6'0" tall weighing between 160-190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with a hood, dark colored pants, white socks and dark colored shoes. The investigation is on-going.
