Beginning Monday, Nov. 6 at 7 a.m., private contractor Tarlton plans to use a crane to set equipment at the University of Missouri Power Plant, weather permitting. This will result in a street and sidewalk closure on South Fifth Street between Elm Street and Stewart Road. The work associated with the closure should be completed by 3:30 p.m. the same day, weather permitting.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone and use an alternate route.
Tarlton is a private contractor with a work permit approved by the City of Columbia.
