Columbia Police officers responded to the 2100 block of Pleasant Way yesterday at 9:10 p.m. in reference to a personal robbery with a gun.
The preliminary investigation revealed a pizza delivery driver was delivering to a residence in the area when four to five suspects approached him. At least one of the suspects brandished a firearm. The suspects retrieved an undisclosed amount of money from the victim before fleeing the area. The victim was not injured during the robbery.
While investigating the incident, officers obtained information that a subject that matched the description of one of the suspects was at a residence in the area. Officers made contact with two subjects at the residence who were subsequently detained pending further investigation. Both subjects were later released. The investigation is on-going.
The suspects are described as black males in their late teens to early-20's. All were last seen wearing dark colored clothing and hooded sweatshirts.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department at (573) 874-7652, or call CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.
