The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced on Sept. 8 that Cook Concrete plans to begin doing brick repair work on University Avenue, beginning Sept. 13 at 7 a.m., weather permitting.
This will result in no parking restrictions on University Avenue between College Avenue and William Street until the work is complete. University Avenue will remain open to traffic in both directions but temporary lane restrictions and minor delays can be expected. The work is scheduled to be completed by 5 p.m. Sept. 28.
Motorists, nonmotorized transportation users and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution in the area while crews are working.
