Columbia Police officers arrested Vincent E. Ferrell, Jr., 47, of Mexico, Missouri in connection to the suspicious package left near the Probation and Parole Office on July 18th.
At 12:48 p.m. on 7/18/17, multiple law enforcement units, the fire department, and medics were dispatched to 1903 North Providence Road, Probation and Parole Office, after a small package wrapped in duct tape was observed outside the building. Several people were evacuated from the building. The package was deemed not hazardous and the scene was stable within approximately one hour. Through the investigation, officers identified Ferrell, Jr. as the individual who placed the package outside the office.
Ferrell, Jr. was arrested on 8/9/17 at 1:00 a.m. at 2121 County Drive, Boone County Jail, for Felony Making a Terrorist Threat in the Second Degree with a bond to be set by the Court.
