Original Press Release - July 28, 2017:
Evening lane restrictions scheduled on Providence Road, Aug. 1-3
Columbia Public Works announced on Friday, July 28, that Sam Gaines Construction plans to close one lane in both directions on Providence Road, between Stewart Road and Stadium Boulevard, from 7 p.m. to 7a.m., August 1-3, weather permitting .
"These closures are necessary to stripe the new intersection improvements at Burnam as well as sawcut for pavement removal near Rollins and Brandon roads," Columbia Public Works Construction Project Superintendent David Fennewald said. "Sam Gaines crews will make an effort to keep lane reductions as short as possible."
Motorists, nonmotorized transportation users and pedestrians are urged to use extreme caution in the work area. Minor delays are possible so use an alternate route at your discretion.
This work is part of the Providence Road Improvement Project, which is still on schedule to be completed by this fall. For more information about the project, including photos, regular updates and links to previous press releases, go to CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/Providence-improvement.
