Update - Victim identified in homicide near Trimble Road and Brickton Road

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Police detectives have identified the victim of yesterday's homicide as Jamar Lamont Hicks, 26, of Boone County. Hicks was one of three victims in a shooting that occurred in the area of Trimble Road and Brickton Road around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 16th. All three victims were transported by Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital where Hicks was pronounced dead by medical personnel. The other two victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The Criminal Investigations Division has been working around the clock since the shooting to identify and apprehend the suspect(s) involved. Detectives ask anyone with any information to contact the Columbia Police Department at (573) 874-7652, or call CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.
