Columbia Public Works announced on Friday, June 16, that Street Division crews plan to perform mill and asphalt overlay operations on a section of Gillespie Bridge Road, June 26-30, weather permitting. The work will take place in the south lane between the Perche Creek Bridge and the Chapel Hill Road turnoff. This will result in the eastbound lane being closed during the work with flaggers at both ends to assist with traffic movement.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone and use an alternate route whenever possible.
