The City of Columbia Public Works Department has scheduled an informal Open House meeting concerning the Nifong Intersections Improvement project. This project includes improvements at the Old Mill Creek and Nifong/Vawter School intersection and improvements at the Sinclair and Nifong intersection.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Mill Creek Elementary School, 2200 W. Nifong Blvd. The meeting will take place in the Media Center.
The purpose of this meeting is to present the design concepts for the intersection improvements, which include construction of a roundabout at each intersection. Construction of each project is currently scheduled to begin in 2019, subject to the City's public involvement process and City Council approval.
Information and diagrams showing the preliminary design concepts will be available for public review. City engineering staff will be present to answer questions and a public comment form will also be available.
Diagrams of the proposed improvements can be found on the City's website at www.como.gov/publicworks/nifong-sinclair-oldmillcreek.
