BURGLAR ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Shane D. Giacoletto, age 20, from Illinois, was arrested on 6/6/17 for the following: Burglary in the First Degree, Burglary in the Second Degree x 2, Tampering in the First Degree, Sexual Misconduct in the First Degree, and Fourth Degree Assault Misdemeanor.

On 6/6/17 at 5:37 a.m., Giacoletto approached the front door of a residence in the 1200 block of Sutton Drive. Giacoletto attempted to gain entrance with no success. Giacoletto then walked to the rear of the residence and broke a glass door, by throwing a vase located on the back porch through the door. After the glass in the door broke, an alarm sounded inside the residence.  Giacoletto did not gain entry into the residence and left.

The homeowners provided a video recording and pictures of Giacoletto at the front door.


On 6/6/17 at 4:34 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a burglary in the 1500 block of Fellows Place. The victim said when she returned home she found the back sliding door broken and a pair of shoes that did not belong to her in the living room.

Officers checked the residence and located clothing that did not belong to her or her husband in the upstairs bedroom.  The victim said she noticed clothing belonging to her husband that was hanging on the bed was gone.  Officers located a brick that was used to break the sliding door.  Officers searched the clothing that did not belong to the victims and found a

Missouri State Highway Patrol citation issued to a Shane Giacoletto on 6/5/17.

The victim reported a set of car keys to a 2008 Toyota Prius was missing from the kitchen table and the Prius had been stolen out of the parking lot. The Prius was later located at 4600 Forum Boulevard where Giacoletto was positively identified as a suspect in another crime that occurred at 4600 Forum Boulevard.

On 6/6/17 at 4:45 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a sexual misconduct at 4600 Forum Boulevard, Wilson's Beach Club.  According to two different witnesses, Giacoletto was seen sitting in a lounge chair with his hands down his pants and moving his hands up and down in such a manner that the witnesses believed he was masturbating.

On 6/6/17 at 6:48 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Dunbar Drive in reference to a burglary.  The homeowners heard someone in their residence and confronted Giacoletto inside their residence. Giacoletto stole the victim's cellular phone prior to leaving the residence. Officers located Giacoletto at 7:10 p.m. in the area of Dunbar Drive and West Tayside Circle and arrested him on the above charges.


On 6/7/17 at 6:43 a.m., officers were transporting Giacoletto from University Hospital and Clinics to the Boone County Jail from charges that occurred on 6/6/17. During the transport of Giacoletto, he spat on an officer through the cage.  Officers pulled over and placed a spit shield on Giacoletto and he was released to the Boone County Jail.
