The Fourth of July Fire in the Sky celebration will return to the District this year. The annual, free event will feature activities, entertainment and fireworks.
The event is made possible by generous sponsor donations from Columbia Insurance Group and KOMU8 as presenting sponsors, and by the Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club, BXR102.3, KFRU 1400, and Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Fire in the Sky activities will be held at Peace Park, 401 S. Ninth St., and Flat Branch Park, 101 S. Fourth St., beginning at 6:30 p.m. on July 4. Fireworks will be shot from the Sixth and Cherry parking garage at 9:15 p.m. and choreographed to music played on BXR102.3.
Entertainment at Peace Park includes the Fried Crawdaddies at 6:30 p.m. and the Norm Ruebling Band at 7:45 p.m. Flat Branch park entertainers will be the Alec Davis Band at 6:30 p.m. and Murphy's Ford at 7:45 p.m.
Children's activities and crafts are located at Flat Branch Park. Concessions will be available.
