Male located in the 1300 block of Dawn Ridge Road with a gunshot wound

One male subject has been transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after a report of a home invasion in the 1300 block of Dawn Ridge Road.

At 12:12 p.m. today, Boone County Joint Communications received a call regarding a home invasion with a gun in the 1300 block of Dawn Ridge Road. Upon officers' arrival, they located two male subjects inside a residence in the area. One of the male subjects had sustained a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen. The male was transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers detained the second male for questioning. There were no further reported injuries as a result of this incident. Patrol officers, a K-9 Unit, Criminal Investigation detectives, and the Forensic Evidence Team responded to the scene.
