On 4/27/17 at 1:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to a bank robbery at Callaway Bank located at 5600 Bull Run Drive.
The investigation revealed two male suspects entered the bank armed with a firearm and demanded money.
The suspects fled the scene heading south from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Multiple witnesses were in the area at the time of the incident and provided a description of the suspect vehicle.
This information was provided to local law enforcement in the area. A
Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper observed the suspect vehicle heading eastbound on I-70 in Callaway County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper was in a vehicle pursuit at 2:01 p.m. with the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle crashed in Callaway County at 2:04 p.m. and a foot pursuit ensued with the occupants of the vehicle. The Missouri State Highway Patrol eventually detained the three occupants of the vehicle at 2:06 p.m.
The Columbia Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is continuing the investigation and further information will be released when it becomes available.
