Update - Arrest made in connection to assault with knife in the 1600 block of Sylvan Lane

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Police officers arrested Vonzeal Dorell Sheley, 30, of Columbia in relation to yesterday's assault with a knife in the 1600 block of Sylvan Lane.

The Criminal Investigations Division detectives determined Sheley brandished a knife upon two male victims entering the residence. Sheley proceeded to attack one of the victims, 28, with the knife during a physical altercation causing the victim to sustain a stab wound and lacerations. The victim was transported to a local hospital for serious injuries. The condition of the victim is unknown at the time of this release.

Officers had detained a second subject believed to have been involved in the altercation. The subject has not been arrested.

Sheley was arrested on 3/18/17 at 11:27 a.m. in the 1600 block of Sylvan Lane for Felony Armed Criminal Action and Felony First Degree Assault with bonds to be set by the Court.
