Columbia Public Works operations to continue during regular business hours

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The Columbia Public Works Street Division is reporting that all first and second priority streets have been plowed curb to curb and treated.

All subward streets have also been treated with salt (either Saturday before the new snow or Sunday during the day). However, some streets in areas that were treated on Saturday have been covered over by ½ to 1 inch of snow. This means that areas where there is little direct sunlight because of trees or little traffic to dissolve the snow could remain covered overnight.

Public Works crews will address those locations as well as any other issues that arise during normal business hours according to the snow response policies outlined at CoMoSnow.com.

Forecast is for temperatures Monday morning to be in the low teens but warming through the day to about 30 degree Fahrenheit. Depending on temperature and sun, snow should be mostly melted by Monday evening. Temperatures are forecast to warm to above freezing during the week with no additional winter weather expected until next weekend.
