Riding a bicycle on a blustery day may require a few more layers and a little fortitude, but the proper preparation and a great attitude will keep you cycling year-round. GetAbout Columbia, in partnership with Columbia Parks and Recreation, is offering a free Winter Cycling Tips and Techniques Workshop at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1. The workshop will be held at the Activity & Recreation Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash.
Workshop discussion will include practical tips on weather related apparel and gear, bike handling skills and winter bike maintenance. Discussion will be led by League of American Bicyclists certified instructors and all-weather cyclists. Attendees will receive front and rear bicycle lights. For more information or to register, call Columbia Parks and Recreation at 573-874-7460.
