Columbia Police officers responded to the 5400 block of Bethel Church Road at 12:38 p.m. today in reference to a home invasion with a gun.
The preliminary investigation has revealed two male suspects dressed in dark clothing approached a residence in the area. The occupant (victim) of the home answered the door and the suspects forced entry into the residence. The suspects were armed with at least one handgun and demanded the victim's money. One suspect struck the victim in the head with the handgun causing minor injury to the victim. The suspects retrieved items from the victim's residence before fleeing the area. Upon officers' arrival, the victim refused transport to a hospital for his injury. There was no reported property damage as a result of the incident. The investigation is on-going.
