ARMED ROBBERY EAGLE STOP
On 6/8/16 at 1:54 A.M., officers were dispatched to 1704 North Providence Road, Eagle Stop, in reference to an armed robbery. The investigation revealed a black male grabbed the clerk from the lot at gunpoint and dragged the clerk back into the store. The suspect told the clerk to remove money from the cash drawer and struck the clerk with the handgun. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene on foot heading northbound. A Columbia Police Department K9 was called to the scene to assist with a track but it was unsuccessful. The clerk had minor injuries from being assaulted but was not transported for medical care. There have been no arrests made and the investigation is ongoing. Surveillance video is not available at this time.
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
A black male, approximately 6'0" tall and 200 pounds. The suspect was wearing a stocking cap with only his eyes exposed and dark clothing. The suspect was armed with a handgun.
