Emery Sapp & Sons, a contractor for MoDOT, is scheduled to begin construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Route WW (East Broadway) and Rolling Hills Road under a permit with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) on Monday, June 6.
In the first phase of the project, work on the roundabout is scheduled to close the north side of Rolling Hills Road for about a month. Drivers will not be able to access Route WW from this side but there will be clearly marked detour routes and flaggers. This phase is scheduled to be completed in early July. In the second phase of the project, the south side of Rolling Hills will close for work until early August.
Although there might be some slight lane shifts, Route WW should remain open to traffic throughout both phases of the project, according to MoDOT.
Currently, Rolling Hills traffic is required to stop at Route WW. According to MoDOT, a traffic signal was originally planned for the intersection but the developer requested a permit to install a safer, more efficient roundabout instead.
