Columbia Police officers arrested Vincent Geshai Dawson, 19, of Columbia in reference to last night's shot fired in the area of Quail and Nelwood Drive.
After further investigation and collection of additional physical evidence, the Criminal Investigations Division has concluded it is undetermined whether the firearm that discharged one round was fired at the Columbia Police officer or discharged accidently. Dawson was not in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest, however, a search warrant of the residence Dawson was located in yielded multiple firearms. Dawson is a convicted felon.
Dawson was arrested for Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful for Certain Persons to Possess a Concealable Firearm with bonds to be set by the Court, Unlawful Use of a Weapon with a bond of $4,500.00, and Felony Resisting Arrest with a bond of $4,500.00.
