Columbia Pools Opening Soon

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Parks and Recreation is preparing to open city pools for the summer. Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, 1900 Blue Ridge Road, will open on May 28 for Memorial Day weekend. Pool hours for the holiday weekend will be 12 to 5 p.m., all three days.

Lake of the Woods Pool, 6700 St. Charles Road; Douglass Family Aquatic Center, 400 N. Providence; and Little Mates Cove, 2500 Chapel Hill Road will open on June 3.

Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center has some new renovations for 2016, including a new children's water play area and bathhouse improvements.  

Pool fees for the summer vary by facility: at Lake of the Woods Pool and Little Mates Cove, admission is $1.50 for youth between 2 and 15 years of age and $2.75 for adults 16 and older.  Patrons at Douglass Family Aquatic Center pay $1 admission and Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center admission is $2.50 for youth between 2 and 15 years of age and $3.75 for adults 16 and older.

Coupon books and aquatic season passes are available as well.  

Following are pool schedules for the summer. Pool hours are subject to change:

Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center-12 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Lake of the Woods-1 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Douglass Family Aquatic Center- 1 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Little Mates Cove at Twin Lakes, 2500 Chapel Hill Road-11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 1 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
