The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced that beginning Tuesday, March 1 at 7 a.m., Lehman Construction LLC of California, Mo will begin construction of a pedestrian bridge over Hinkson Creek along Forum Boulevard. In order to complete this project, the contractor will need to remove trees that conflict with the new bridge and trail as well as install a temporary construction crossing at Hinkson Creek. This work may also result in temporary lane restrictions on Forum Boulevard for equipment to access the site. The work is scheduled to be completed by winter. This work is funded by the Federal Non-Motorized Transportation Grant.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route when possible.
