Christmas/Winter Break Burglary Results

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

                       CHRISTMAS/WINTER BREAK BURGLARY RESULTS

The final numbers have been compiled for Christmas/Winter Break 2015 as well as the numbers from Christmas Break 2009 through 2014.

Winter Break December 18, 2015 through January 19, 2016 - 63 Burglaries (49 Residential, 10 Commercial, and 4 other)

Winter Break December 19, 2014 through January 20, 2015 - 105 Burglaries (74 Residential, 30 Commercial, and 1 other)

Winter Break December 14, 2013 through January 20, 2014 - 96 Burglaries (75 Residential, 15, Commercial and 6 other)

Winter Break December 15, 2012 through January 21, 2013 - 66 Burglaries (59 Residential, 6 Commercial and 1 other)

Winter Break December 17, 2011 through January 16, 2012 - 74 Burglaries

Winter Break December 17, 2010 through January 18, 2011 - 73 Burglaries

Winter Break December 18, 2009 through January 19, 2010 - 70 Burglaries

After checking all 63 burglaries, it does not appear they were concentrated to a certain area of town. Our records system does not separate students from non-students.  The other category listed above with residential and commercial burglaries are an unattached garage or shed. Out of the 63 burglaries, 24 were forced entry, 36 were unforced entry and three were no entry.

The burglary UCR for Columbia in 2011 for the whole year was 798

The burglary UCR for Columbia in 2012 for the whole year was 784

The burglary UCR for Columbia in 2013 for the whole year was 703 

The burglary UCR for Columbia in 2014 for the whole year was 750

The burglary UCR for Columbia in 2015 for the whole year was 839
