MEETING LOCATION CHANGE - Interested Parties Meeting - Northland Drive Sewer District 172

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The meeting location within City Hall has changed. This meeting will take place in the Historic Daniel Boone Building Lobby - not conference room 1A.

Original release:

Columbia Utilities - Sanitary Sewer Utility will host an informal open house style meeting to discuss and gather feedback on the Northland Drive Sewer District 172. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in conference room 1A at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.

This project will consist of extending public sewer main to approximately six parcels of land to eliminate failing on-site sewer systems.

Sanitary Sewer Utility staff will be on hand to present information and collect feedback. After the interested parties meeting, a public hearing will be scheduled for a future City Council meeting. Notices of the public hearing date and time will be posted.

The estimated infrastructure investment of this project is $200,000 and will be funded by tax bills and deferred tax bills on properties in the sewer district as well as sanitary sewer utility funds.  Sewer districts are formed as a result of property owners petitioning the City to form a sewer district. Petitioners fully understand the tax and deferred tax billing on their properties which will assist in paying for the infrastructure investments. A copy of a sewer district petition is available at https://www.gocolumbiamo.com/PublicWorks/Sewer/index.php

A map of the project area is attached to this release.
