Columbia Utilities, Sanitary Sewer Division, will host an informal open house style Interested Parties Meeting concerning the construction of the Henderson Branch Sewer Extension on Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway in conference room 1A.
Sanitary Sewer engineers and staff will have information concerning the project and will have resident feedback forms available to collect input.
The Henderson Branch Sewer Extension includes approximately 8,000 linear feet of gravity sewer ranging in size from 24 to 30 inches in diameter and would extend public sewer from the existing Perche Creek interceptor sewer, along the Henderson Branch Creek to a point just north of I-70, near the Midway Auto Truck Plaza. This sewer extension will serve the entire Henderson Branch watershed and an additional 800 acres of property adjacent to this watershed.
Extension of the public sewer will allow for the eliminate several private sewer packaging plants.
The investment into our sanitary sewer system for this project is approximately $2.6 million. Funding is provided through the Sanitary Sewer Utility Fund using funds from the voter approved 2013 Sanitary Sewer Ballot issue and through a cooperative agreement with Boone County Regional Sewer District (BCRSD) of an amount not to exceed $628,047.
If you are unable to attend the meeting and wish to provide comment or have questions, please contact Project Manager Nate Runyan at (573) 441-5482 or via email at [email protected]create new email.
