Approved extended work hours on the Scott Blvd improvement project means residents on south Scott Boulevard may be affected this week by the noise of early morning construction work. The extended hours will begin at 4:00am Wednesday morning and allow Emery Sapp & Sons to install concrete pavement and complete necessary pavement sawing work near the intersection of Scott and Leighton. The early start will allow the team to complete the pavement work quickly instead of drawn out over an entire week or more. If everything goes well, they hope to get installation and sawing completed by Wednesday night and may not have to utilize the extended work hours for more than one morning.
Noise disturbances are the biggest concern with this type of work in the early morning and the Public Works Department appreciates the patience of customers in the area while these important improvements to our infrastructure are completed. No additional traffic impacts are expected for this phase of work, but customers are asked to be cautious in the work zone and watch for trucks and machinery moving in and out of the area.
