The City of Columbia Stormwater Utility will host an informal open house style Interested Parties meeting to provide information on the replacement of a stormwater culvert under Rollins Rd at Rockcreek. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 10 from 6 to 7:30 PM at Russell Blvd Elementary School, 1800 Rollins Rd.
City staff will be on hand to provide information on the project and to collect customers thoughts and ideas.
The current corrugated metal pipe (CMP) under Rollins Rd is of inadequate size and the pipe has deteriorated causing concern for future failure. Failure of the pipe could cause the roadway above it to also collapse.
Engineers are proposing replacing the old CMP with an adequate size half-dome concrete structure.
Total estimated cost of the project is $500,000. Funding is from the voter approved increase to stormwater fees.
If you are unable to attend the meeting and wish to learn more or comment on the proposed project please contact:
