Suspect Arrested For An Early Morning Armed Robbery That Occurred in the 2600 Block of West Broadway

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR AN EARLY MORNING ARMED ROBBERY THAT OCCURRED IN THE 2600 BLOCK OF WEST BROADWAY

On 10/5/15 at 8:26 A.M., officers were dispatched to a robbery with a weapon at 2601 W. Broadway, Broadway Christian Church.  Two female victims at different locations outside of the church were robbed. One of the female victims reported she was robbed at knife point while picking vegetables at the church. The victim had her vehicle, keys, cellular phone and purse stolen and the suspect was last seen traveling eastbound on Broadway in the victim's vehicle. The second female victim reported she was robbed at knife point outside the church but unaware that anyone else was robbed by the suspect.  The victim had her personal items stolen. The victims were not injured during the robbery.

A FBI agent in the area observed the stolen vehicle heading Northbound on Highway 63. The FBI agent observed the driver exit Highway 63 at Vandiver Drive and then reentered Highway 63 heading southbound.  The FBI agent activated lights and sirens but the suspect refused to stop.  The suspect exited Highway 63 using the Broadway exit and then abandoned the vehicle near the Elks Lodge on East Broadway. Officers notified Cedar Ridge Elementary School.

The suspect, identified as Glen E. Lewis, age 43, was taken into custody at 10:10 A.M. Lewis was arrested for:  Robbery in the First Degree x 2 with a to be set bond, Armed Criminal Action x 2 with a to be set bond, Felonious Restraint with a bond of $4,500.00, Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident with a bond of $4,500.00, Felony Tampering in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00 and a Probation and Parole Warrant with no bond amount.
