Free Bus Transportation to Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

COMO Connect will be offering free bus transportation and extended service hours all weekend during the RootsNBluesNBBQ festival, plus an extra late night trip home from the festival after the last show each night. No special pass or ticket is required for customers to take advantage of the free fixed bus routes this weekend, and extended service hours will be effective city-wide, not just to and from the festival.

Daytime Bus Service

Fixed city bus routes are free to everyone city-wide this weekend and will extend their daytime service hours Friday and Saturday evening, and run Sunday service. Customers traveling to the festival can take advantage of two bus stops at Stephens Lake Park during the extended daytime service hours. One bus stop is located at the park's south edge along Broadway and is serviced by the 2A/Gold Bus Route and the 6/Pink Bus Route. The second is a temporary bus stop just for this weekend at the park's west entrance along Old Highway 63, which will be serviced by the 10/Red "Reversed" Bus Route. This special "reversed" route is running in a counter-clockwise direction in order to transport customers directly to the park's entrance, and will be in addition to the normal clockwise 10/Red downtown route that will also be running its usual hours this weekend. The 7/Dark Green Bus Route and the 11/Aqua Commuter Bus Route will not be running daytime bus service on Saturday or Sunday. Customers can see live bus tracking, as well as printable maps and schedules at www.COMOconnect.org, and can download the free COMO Connect app for live bus tracking and real-time updates on their mobile device as well.

The extended hours of the daytime bus service are as follows:

Friday, Sept 25: 6:25am-10pm

Saturday, Sept 26: 10am-10pm

Sunday, Sept 27: 11am-7pm

The festival will also be providing free yellow school bus shuttles making regular trips between the park's Riechmann Pavilion and downtown parking garages starting one hour before the gates open each day. The yellow school bus shuttles are not operated by COMO Connect and questions about this service can be directed to the festival.

Late Night Festival Service

COMO Connect will also be offering festival goers a safe ride home from the park after the last performance each night. City buses for all fixed routes, as well as the yellow school bus shuttles to downtown, will be lined up at the Riechmann Pavilion for free rides about 15 minutes after the last show ends and will head straight to all city bus routes from the park so customers won't need to worry about making transfers.
